Ponderosa Ripley WV review 3.3.13 Intro: greeted really nicely and seated promptly. They were fine with my wonky seating request (I’m sensitive so I have to sit away from other people) Waitress was fast getting our drinks. Order 1 (mine) 8oz sirloin + Buffet. Buffet had ham and I love ham! It was good ham as well. I also had some chicken legs and some Salisbury steak. It was good. My steak came quick too and it didn’t even need A1! Tasted really good too. After that I got a salad and It was good. My baked potato was good too and I loaded it up with cheese and bacon bits from the buffet. Order 2 (husband’s) 8oz chopped steak + Buffet. He got some various meats from the buffet and he liked them. He also really liked his baked potato and his chopped steak. Service: Vicky (I think that was her name) was very prompt and very friendly and helpful. Engaging as well. Very nice vibes as well. Very prompt with everything. Ponderosa SteakHouse review for 2.3.12 intro: we were greeted nicely and seated and taken care of quickly. Our waitress took care of us fast and was laid back and nice. The place was packed, but it didn't seem to slow the staff down much at all and we were able to be seated at a nice location away from most people due to my smell sensitivity. Our part of the restaurant was calm and quiet. Even though the place was very packed it didn't feel hectic. It was pretty calm. Buffet: my ham was really good! I ate a lot of it and it was perfect. Excellent consistency and taste. I also got some Haddock fish and it was very easy to eat and tasted nice. I also tried some chicken and it was ok, not the best but better then ryan's buffet's. Order 1 (mine) I got a sirloin and it came with the buffet.I had a baked potato and it was really good, not overcooked like last time's first one! I ordered the steak medium well and thought it would be more tender, but it was too tough ...

Ponderosa Steakhouse review for 9.18.11 I have not been to a Ponderosa in Years (since feb 2005--->Lebanon,TN) I always liked Ponderosa. They were my fav place to go as a kid and a teen. The one I went to in lebanon,TN was excellent. I haven't been to one since then. Now we finally got to go to the one in Ripley,WV (it's within a 1.5hr driving distance from my current location) I was eager to give them another try again,specially since a lot of locations are closing down. ;-( we were greeted nicely and taken care of promptly. I ordered a sirloin steak and it was 10.99 incl. Buffet My steak was meaty and good flavor and was cooked to my specifications. I barely needed any A1 sauce. It wasn't a premium fancy steak, however it was still good! On the buffet I got Ham only, as I wanted to have more room for the steak, however the selections were actually pretty good, they had plenty of meats and main course items, more then Ryan's buffet actually had as far as...

1st on a series of Restaurant rants: Notes for: 05.15.11 I will note that the costs of this chain have gone up to be higher then Ryan's or Golden corral. This prevents me from being a regular again. On average it is 12.99/person. I can go to a place like Longhorn Steakhouse and have premium steak for about the same price. Also the lack of locations near me contributes to the lack of patronage. I will also note that lots of locations are shut down/being shut down  and that's sad. Someone needs to save this chain. Or the parent company needs to sell to someone who will. This greatly disappoints me because I used to love this chain... I miss it greatly. I will miss it. I still like them and this is why I want them to improve!  next visit will certainly send lots of feedback.
